This is my second Dan Zadra book - I started with "5" - and like that one, "7" is also an inspiring, quick read. 7 focuses on reminding us that life is supposed to be more than just running from work to errands to chores to bed every day. I see this as one of the books I can pick up again and again to remind myself that I want to do more in life than just my daily routine. If you've never seen one of these books, please note that the content is not like a traditional book, nor is it exactly like one of those workbooks where you fill out lists and answer questions about yourself. This book is a mixture of quotes, text, personal stories, and suggestions for taking action (like "become a beginner again" and "imagine seeing everything as if for the first time." There are a few pages where you are invited to consider a question and jot down your answer, such as "My top values are..." and "What am I putting first in my life?" Some pages have just one quote on it, others are filled with stories and examples. It's a relatively short read, but sufficient for its purpose.I see this is a great gift for someone who is struggling with becoming bogged down in daily life or who is thinking about pursuing dreams. My favorite quote in the book is the "Someday is not a day of the week," and it's similar quotes and stories in this book that can really make you stop and think about how you are spending your time. I would recommend this book for anyone.
